  TS EdCET results to be declared on Wednesday  The results of Telangana State Education Common Entrance Test (TS EdCET) 2020 will be declared on Wednesday.  Telangana State Council of Higher Education chairman, Prof. T Papi Reddy will announce the results at Osmania University at 11.30 am.   Govt to sell onions at Rs 35 per kg at Hyderabad Rythu Bazaars #Hyderabad: With onions costing Rs 100 per kg in the market, the State government has decided to sell them at a subsidised price of Rs 35 per kg through 11 Rythu Bazaars across Hyderabad. On producing an identification card, each person can purchase upto 2 kg onion from the government stall at the Rythu Bazaars. Since the first week of October, onion prices have been on the rise, with retail shops and grocery stores increasing the prices. Even in Rythu bazaars, which sell vegetables at wholesale prices, customers had to buy them at Rs 80-90 per kg.

  12 crest gates of Nagarjuna Sagar Project Lifted #Nalgonda: In view of continuing inflows, authorities lifted 12 crest gates of Nagarjuna Sagar Project (NSP) by 10 feet on Saturday to release water downstream. According to the figures obtained from NSP officials, inflows to the project was 3, 40,761 cusecs and outflow was reported as 2,19,277  cusecs. The water level in the project reached 589.60 feet as against Full Reservoir Level of 590 feet. Days after a portion of one of the miradors of a rampart of Naya Qila collapsed, a portion of the wall near Sri Jagadamba temple located inside the historic Golconda Fort has fallen owing to the torrential rains which pounded Hyderabad till two days ago. The nearly 20-foot tall wall is on the way to the highest point of the fort. No one was injured because of the wall collapse as there were hardly any visitors because of the heavy rains , floods and the COVID-19 situation. 10 months ago the Archaeological department had carried out repair works on some portions of the Golconda Fort which was the seat of Qutub Shahi dynasty. Locals alleged that the officials concerned did not take note of the cracks which appeared on the fallen wall.

  Massive loss for farmers as floods damage crops in Sangareddy. With river Manjira receiving heavy inflows from upstream areas and water level touching the full reservoir level in Singur project, crops in hundreds of acres were submerged in water along the river course in Narayankhed and Zaheerabad Assembly constituencies. Singur was receiving 58,000 cusecs of water from upstream while the irrigation authorities were discharging 68,000 cusecs downstream the river course. Due to heavy floods, villagers living near the Singur project said that insects and snakes were entering their houses.

  Hyderabad Heavy Rains:CM KCR announces Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia to flood victims Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday announced ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the kin of persons who died in rain-related incidents. He also instructed officials to provide relief to people affected by rains and floods on a war-footing, and asked them to distribute rice, pulses and other essential items besides three blankets to every household on behalf of the State government.
